ABOUT ME

My name is Gareth David and I work in the space where broadcast technology, systems engineering, and station operations come together. For most of my career I have focused on building and maintaining the technical systems that keep radio stations on air, reliable, and ready for the future.

Over the years I have had the privilege of working with respected radio brands including Gagasi FM, HOT 102.7 FM, and Classic FM. Through my current role I also collaborate with Heart FM , which forms part of our broader GH Media group. Across these environments I have been involved in a wide range of broadcast technology projects, from studio infrastructure and broadcast server migrations to advanced audio processing chains, MPX over IP distribution, and digital streaming systems.

Beyond my direct roles, I also engage with other radio stations and industry professionals, often providing technical advice, guidance, and insight on broadcast systems, infrastructure planning, and emerging technologies within the radio industry.

Alongside my technical career in broadcasting, I am also a music producer. I release music under several artist names including Gareth David, Augmented Echo, and DJ Mix Minus, each representing different musical styles and creative directions. Through these projects I explore a range of genres and production approaches, bringing together my passion for sound, technology, and creative expression.

What I enjoy most about this field is solving complex problems and turning them into stable, well designed systems. Radio continues to evolve as digital platforms, streaming, and new distribution technologies reshape the industry. My focus has always been on building infrastructure that is reliable today while also preparing stations for the future.

Along the way I work closely with teams, vendors, and leadership to implement technology that improves operational resilience while supporting the creative side of radio. At its best, technology should never get in the way of the content. When systems are designed properly, they simply allow great radio to happen.

At the core, I believe that strong engineering quietly supports great storytelling, music, and connection with audiences.
